| Museum of Islamic Art, Qatar
Jeff leads education workshops at this prestigious venue.
Recently opened, the education department of this stunning museum out in the sea and joined by a causeway to the capital city of Doha, invited Jeff Teasdale to lead art workshops based on the unique collection of Islamic art owned by the King of Qatar.
Jeff worked with groups of artists, teachers and students in the Education wing. The starting points were the collections of manuscripts, ceramics, sculptures, fabrics, furnishings and pictures, and elements of these were translated through drawings into sculpture using willow and cane, found objects, inks, pastels and acrylic paints. Each participant used the work of Islamic Art of their choice and retranslated this into their own personal and individual piece of work. This was a unique and successful event on many levels, both artistic and cultural.
Anyone enjoying a 'stopover' at Doha Airport, or visiting this splendid city, should take the time to call into this wonderful museum
