After drawing, painting just means ‘flooding with colour’,
and is a visually and mentally enriching process that can further delineate
shapes and forms. As well as the huge variety of paints available, from
acrylic, oil, watercolour, and guache to household paints, the term ‘painting’ can
also apply to inks, dyes, pastels, crayons, coloured papers, and glazes.
As with drawing, any medium that provides colour is appropriate, each offering
its own qualities and surface texture

Workshop ‘paintings’ can
be on a variety of scales, from smaller individual pieces to much larger
group murals and playground labyrinths. Large sheets of plastic are available
to cover the hall floor!
